Our History

The first Fingershield door hinge guards were shipped in 1999 in the United Kingdom. Due to their simple design, ease of installation and unique Ten Year Warranty they soon became the clear market leader.

Fingershield door hinge guards are installed in over 8,000 Schools and Child Care Centers in the UK and the USA. Many thousands more are installed in Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities, Military bases, Supermarkets, Fast Food Restaurants and Leisure and Fitness Centers.

Door Hinge Guard Compliance Testing and Approvals

During tests, carried out by an independent testing organization, a Fingershield push-side door hinge guard showed no sign of wear or any potential failure after 1.8 million door opening and closing cycles. The test was stopped at that time because of the failure of the door hinges. This result gave us the confidence to ship all Fingershield door hinge guards with a Ten Year Warranty.

The Fingershield door hinge guards have undergone a rigorous testing program carried out by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). They passed all of the tests and are approved for use with UL classified Fire doors and Frames rated up to and including 4h.
