Frequently Asked Questions Where should I install Fingershield door hinge guards?Where should I install Fingershield door hinge guards? They should be installed on all doors that children and vulnerable adults pass by or through. Each door that children and vulnerable adults pass through requires a Push-side and a Pull-side door hinge guard to be installed to eliminate the chances of a finger-pinch injury. Each door that children and vulnerable adults pass by requires a Push-side or a Pull-side door hinge guard to be installed (depends on which side of the door the child or vulnerable adult passes by) to eliminate the chances of a finger-pinch injury. If a door is fitted with a continuous hinge (sometimes called a piano hinge) then a pull-side door hinge guard is not required. If you are in any doubt please call technical support toll free on 1-866-577-9221. What's the difference between a push-side and a pull-side door hinge guard? To open a door you either push the door away from you or pull it towards you. The push-side door hinge guard attaches to the side of the door you push away and the pull-side door hinge guard attaches to the side of the door that you pull towards you. The push-side and pull-side hinge guards are very different in design and manufacture and are not interchangeable. They are calcium-zinc stabilized and don't contain any Cadmium or Lead (click here to see a product specification sheet). What lengths and colors do you offer? We stock push-side and pull-side hinge guards in two lengths, 79" for an 80" door and 83" for an 84" door and in three colors White, Brown and Black. They can be cut to shorter lengths with a pair of snips or strong scissors. On request we will provide a quotation for non standard lengths and colors so if you don't see exactly what you want in stock please give us a call toll free on 1-866-577-9221 and we will do our best to meet your special requirements. When are you open for business? Our office hours are 09:00am-05:00pm Monday through Friday (Eastern Time) however the ability to purchase the Fingershield door hinge guards is always available at our online store (click here). There is also an automated phone system active 24 hours a day. Please leave your name and number and a brief description of how we can help you, and we'll return your call. Is there a minimum order? No, we will supply just one item if that is what you want. Can I change my order after it has been placed? Yes, you can change and even cancel an order any time prior to shipment from our warehouse. This may delay shipment by 24 hours (more if the next day is not a normal business day). Can you install them for me? The door hinge guards are easy to install. How long before my order ships? Orders received before mid-day (Eastern Time) Monday through Friday will ship the same day (except Holidays). What method of shipping do you use and how long will it take? Our preferred method of shipping is via UPS Ground. Delivery in the Continental United States normally takes between 1 and 6 business days depending on where you are located. After your shipment has left our warehouse we send you a Shipment Notification email that contains the UPS Tracking number. You can use this number to track the movement of your package on the UPS website. What if I want my order faster? All the other UPS methods of shipment are available upon request. Just tell us your needs and we will try to accommodate them. Can I open an account? Our preferred method of payment is via credit card. However, if you are unable to use this method please contact us to discuss your eligibility to open an account. Which credit cards do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. What is your return policy? You can return all or part of an order. Please use the original packaging for the return shipment and contact us to arrange collection. Please include a copy of your invoice with the return. We do not charge restocking fees but return shipping charges will be deducted from your refund. Any returned hinge guards must be in the same condition as they were when shipped to you. We reserve the right to refuse a refund for returned hinge guards that are not acceptable for re-sale. What did we leave out?
