Ease of installation: :You do not have to remove a door to install. The product requires no specialist skills, any 'handyman' can install the product after watching the installation video. The product screws to a door and frame in about 5-6 minutes (the first one will take about 10-15 minutes including learning curve time).
Screw not Glue: Because our product screws to the door and frame it is removable and replaceable for door maintenance. Some products just glue to the door. If the door is not properly prepared then the product becomes unstuck in use. Otherwise if successfully glued in place it cannot be removed for door maintenance.
Cuts with a pair of snips or strong scissors: The product comes in two lengths of 79" and 83" this is one inch shorter that the two standard door sizes (this allows for doors being shortened to account for different floor coverings). The product cuts easily to shorter lengths for half doors.
UL Certified: Can be fitted to fire doors. The product is rated for fire doors and door frames up to and including 4h
Environmentally Friendly: They are fully recyclable even down to the screws. The hinge guards are made from uPVC and nitrile rubber. They are calcium-zinc stabilized and don't contain any Cadmium or Lead.
The Fingershield Push-Side Door Hinge Guard
As you "Push" open a door to go through it a dangerous gap is created at the hinge side of the door. As the door is closed the closing gap could trap fingers. The Fingershield Push-Side Door Hinge Guard prevents finger-pinch injuries by covering the gap as the door is opened and closed.
The Fingershield Push-side and Pull-side door hinge guards can be fitted to most doors including swing pivot doors, concertina doors, partitions and external gates and most door types including wood, metal and uPVC.
The wide model Fingershield Push-side door hinge guard is for doors with panic-bars (more information click here) and is very occasionally required on oversized doors with a large opening span.
Lengths: Fingershield door hinge guards are available in two lengths: 79" to fit a standard 80" door and 83" to fit a standard 84" door.
Fingershield door hinge guards should be fitted close to the bottom edge of the door and extended to as high as the full length of the guard will allow. Fingershield door hinge guards can be cut to shorter lengths with a pair of snips or strong scissors.
